Mayan
Description
Mayan is a steel inverted roller coaster built by Dutch manufacturer Vekoma, operating at Energylandia in Zator since September 2015. It runs on the 689m Standard variant of the Suspended Looping Coaster model, a design with 27 original installations worldwide. The layout is compact, with tight curves that generate forces reaching 5 G, and several points where the track passes close to its own support structures, creating a sensation of proximity that adds to the intensity of the ride. The sequence begins with a chain lift hill rising to 33.3 m, followed by a right-hand descent into the first major element: a roll-over, a vertical loop split in the middle by a barrel roll, delivering two inversions in a single fluid motion. The train then climbs while turning left before entering a sidewinder, which combines half a loop with half a corkscrew. A 270-degree helix follows, winding tightly to the right, before the layout closes with a double in-line twist, two consecutive barrel rolls that bring the total inversion count to five. The train then makes a 180-degree turnaround, runs a short slalom section, and returns to the station. Of all roller coasters in Poland, Mayan holds the highest number of inversions. Trains carry 20 riders per cycle, and the top speed reached during the ride is 80 km/h. A minimum height of 140 cm is required to ride without an accompanying adult.
