Description

Legendia, operating under its current name since 2017, is Poland's oldest amusement park, originally opened on 12 September 1959 as Śląskie Wesołe Miasteczko. Spread across approximately 26 hectares within the grounds of Park Śląski in Chorzów, the complex is arranged around a natural pond and set within a green landscape that includes over 800 plant species. The site's long operational history, combined with substantial investment following the 2015 acquisition by Tatry Mountain Resorts, has shaped it into the largest themed amusement park in Poland. The park is organised into five thematic zones, collectively hosting more than 40 attractions ranging from rides designed for young children to high-intensity experiences for adults. Among the landmark attractions is Legendia Flower, a 40-metre Ferris wheel installed in 1985, which remains the largest carousel of its type in Poland and accommodates up to 216 passengers per cycle. Dream Flight Airlines, a set of large swing planes suspended from a 45-metre tower, has been part of the park since its earliest years, reaching speeds of up to 55 km/h during rides lasting approximately 12 minutes. The Lech Coaster, opened on 1 July 2017, is a steel roller coaster reaching 40 metres in height and was recognised as the best new coaster in Europe at the 2017 edition of the relevant industry competition. The Bazyliszek, introduced in 2018, is Poland's first interactive dark ride of its type, covering 1,000 square metres, and has received multiple international industry awards including a Thea Award from the Themed Entertainment Association and a European Star Award. The Dolina Jagi, a family rapid river attraction opened in 2020, rounds out the more recent additions to the portfolio. Supporting the ride portfolio is an infrastructure of 11 food and beverage points distributed across the park's zones.
