Description

Diabelska Pętla holds a notable place in Polish amusement park history as the country's first roller coaster with inversions. Built by French manufacturer Soquet, founded in 1975, the ride originally opened at Lightwater Valley in the United Kingdom in 1988 under the name Soopa Loopa before relocating twice and eventually arriving at Legendia in Chorzów in June 2007. Between the 2018 and 2019 seasons the coaster underwent a full renovation and received its current name. The layout follows a straightforward but punchy sequence. After leaving the station, the six-car train climbs a chain lift hill to a height of 20 m, then descends through a right-hand arc before encountering two consecutive vertical loops. A low hill with a slight left-hand direction change follows, after which the train sweeps through a right-hand spiral before brakes bring it back to the station. The entire run lasts 1 minute and 27 seconds, with speed peaking at 70 km/h and forces reaching up to 3 g through the loops. One additional detail worth noting: the second-to-last row of seats faces backward, running opposite to the direction of travel. Following the renovation, the station received theming drawn from mining imagery and Silesian witch folklore. The support columns are dark grey, the structure of both loops is painted green, and the rest of the track is steel grey. The train itself runs in blue and brown.
