Dießenbachschlucht

Description
The Dießenbachschlucht is a natural gorge within the EDELWIES park grounds, home to a wide variety of animals and plants and covered in dense, lush vegetation. Walking through it, past rock formations that are intended to one day be inhabited by ibexes, and onward toward the large reservoir, visitors feel far removed from any trace of civilization. A portion of the gorge was reclassified several years ago as a high-quality, undisturbed compensatory natural area, allowing a genuine nature biotope to develop in its place.
