Dießenbach (renaturiert)

Description
The Dießenbach is a mountain stream running through the grounds of EDELWIES, restored to its natural course in 2020 after nearly 100 years of being channelled underground. The renaturalisation project covered a stretch of approximately 660 metres, from below the large retention pond southward to the confluence with the Altbach. The goal was to recreate a watercourse typical of the local mountain landscape and to re-establish biological continuity within the stream. Two bridges, built from timber sourced on-site, allow visitors to cross the water comfortably. Seating areas are distributed along the banks, and discreet lighting extends the usability of the path into the evening hours.
