Thaolon
Description
Thaolon is an indoor drop tower by Zierer, designed for families with children and housed entirely within a themed structure at Bayern-Park. Before boarding, guests pass through a large black gate as a mysterious voice intones "Enter, stranger," setting the tone for what follows. The queue area winds through a playful labyrinth of mirrors and dwarf imagery, lit by dim, flickering light that builds anticipation without becoming genuinely frightening, making it accessible even for young children. Inside the tower, the gondola does not simply rise and fall once. It travels up to 11 meters, bouncing repeatedly between levels while rotating, allowing riders to observe the Thalonier dwarves at work in their mining world across multiple passes. The themed scenery depicts underground mine life in the fictional realm of Thalonien, and a musical soundtrack accompanies the roughly 2-minute ride cycle throughout. Children from 95 cm in height may ride with an adult present, and the upper height limit is set at 210 cm. The minimum age is 3 years. The entire experience, including the queue, takes place indoors under cover.
