Description

Künstlerische Holzgestaltung Bergmann GmbH is a German company founded in 1990 on a forest farm at the German-Polish border, where Jürgen Bergmann began crafting wooden objects designed to be sat on, climbed, and explored. What started as a one-man operation has grown into a workshop employing between 100 and 150 people, ranging from woodcutters to artists. In 2013 the business was formally restructured as a GmbH. The company works almost exclusively with untreated oak and robinia timber, sourced from responsible forestry and processed on-site at its own workshop on the Kulturinsel site. Every object produced is a one-of-a-kind piece. The workflow runs from initial site analysis and hand-drawn concept sketches through 1:25 scale physical models to on-site assembly, with each project supervised throughout by an experienced master craftsman. Completed installations are certified to the European playground equipment standard DIN EN 1176, with independent inspection carried out by bodies such as DEKRA or TÜV. The range of output is broad: climbing structures, adventure towers, treehouses, bridges, castle play environments, ship sculptures, themed indoor play areas, zoo installations, stage constructions, gastronomy interiors, adventure golf courses, and complete themed park landscapes. Clients are drawn from across Europe and beyond, with a particularly extensive track record of projects delivered for the French holiday park operator Capfun, as well as for zoos, wildlife parks, and furniture retail chains such as Höffner. Reference projects span locations in Germany, France, the Netherlands, Switzerland, Luxembourg, the United Kingdom, and the Canary Islands.
