Description

Miniponys at Bayern-Park is a pony enclosure where guests can observe a small herd of five miniature ponies: Xamira (brown and white), Belinda (black and white), Gusti (small and brown), Amara (brown), and DJ (brown). The animals spend their days grazing together, grooming each other, and roaming their paddock. Miniature ponies are known for their stocky build, short legs, and large heads with shaggy manes. Most breeds originate from harsh, often colder climates such as Iceland, Great Britain, Ireland, Poland, and Norway, which gives them a thick winter coat that covers even their ears. They live in herds with a clear social hierarchy and feed primarily on grass and hay, with apples and carrots offered as occasional treats. A miniature pony can weigh up to 200 kg, carry up to 60 kg when fully grown and trained, and pull close to half its own body weight. Their typical lifespan is around 30 years, though in rare cases individuals have lived up to 50 years.
