Grotto Expedition

Description

Grotto Expedition is a slow boat ride located in the Aqualantis zone of Energylandia, built by Polish manufacturer Technoform. Twelve passengers board a single vessel and travel a 300-metre circuit at 3.5 km/h through a themed reconstruction of a submerged city, passing through cave formations and detailed scenographic elements before reaching an open lagoon positioned at the edge of the sunken settlement. The ride shares its environment with the broader Aqualantis zone, meaning passengers moving at a leisurely pace through the darkened grottos have direct sightlines to guests experiencing the zone's more intense attractions. The scenography, developed in collaboration with Theme Design and incorporating artificial rock formations and cast polymer elements, frames the narrative of an abandoned underwater civilisation. Because of its low speed and absence of sudden movements, Grotto Expedition is accessible to children from 120 cm in height travelling alone, and to children as young as two years old when accompanied by an adult.
