Description

Funtime is an amusement ride manufacturer established in 1998, with roots on the Gold Coast, Australia, and a European presence in Dölsach, Austria. The company designs and produces a range of high-intensity thrill attractions, each built around distinct mechanical concepts. The SlingShot is among the company's most recognizable products. Passengers are propelled over 100 metres at speeds approaching 160 km/h, powered by a patented spring propulsion system incorporating up to 720 specially designed springs. The design deliberately avoids rubber ropes or bungee cords, and the ride can be configured to accommodate elevated gondola loading platforms where space is limited. For venues seeking maximum intensity, versions capable of launching the capsule beyond 150 metres are available. The StarFlyer is a tower-based swing ride that builds on the traditional chain-swing concept by adding significant altitude. The tallest installation to date reached 400 ft (approximately 122 m) above ground at a Six Flags park in the United States, and a 117 m version operates in Vienna. The ride has received TUV certification for operation in wind speeds up to force 8 (74 km/h). Under a partnership with Ride Entertainment Group, StarFlyer units have been deployed at multiple Six Flags parks across North America under the name Sky Screamer. Other products in the portfolio include the Vomatron, a vertically mounted centrifuge-type ride with arms of 40, 50, or 60 metres rotating at over 120 km/h and generating forces up to 4g; the Skyfall, a mobile drop tower reaching 80 metres that can be assembled in under 8 hours using 5 trailers without a large crane, using permanent magnetic braking; the Tornado, which sends riders through a figure-eight path at speeds up to 70 km/h and heights above 30 metres; the Rocket, which lifts 10 passengers 60 metres via hydraulic rams and rotates the gondola around a 100-metre diameter; the SkyDiver, a free-fall attraction winching riders to 60 metres before release; the Chaos Pendle, which uses an excenter mechanism to produce a variable elliptical flight path; and The Bell, a pendulum-style ride reaching 28 metres with a swing arc of up to 120 degrees.
