Description

Dotto Trains is an Italian manufacturer of road and rail tourist trains, founded in 1962 in Castelfranco Veneto, in the Veneto region. The company traces its origins to a hobby project by Ivo Dotto, who built the first engine-driven train on rails that year. In 1966, the transition from fixed tracks to road-going vehicles marked a turning point, transforming the product into a versatile means of transport suitable for parks, city centers, resorts, and amusement venues. By 1972, the first road train designed specifically for adults was introduced, and sales began expanding beyond Italy. Over the following decades, Dotto Trains developed a broad product portfolio covering multiple operating environments and propulsion technologies. The 1995 launch of the first electric train reflected an early commitment to low-emission mobility, a direction reinforced in 2014 with a dedicated range of eco-friendly electric models. The year 2000 brought the TM970, an aerodynamic model suited to modern urban settings. In 2006, the Funny Trains line was introduced, a range of brightly colored trains with cartoon-inspired designs aimed at amusement parks, holiday villages, and resorts. The Dottobus lineup, which includes both enclosed Euro 6 diesel shuttle buses and fully electric variants, was developed from 2017 onward, offering solutions for airport transfers and urban transport applications. The current product range includes the Classic Line, the Muson River series in both diesel 2x4 and electric configurations, and several wagon models including the A 86, A 91, A 91S, A 94, A 94S, A 98, A 98S, C 93, C 94, and C 98. The Big Boy is a 4x4 locomotive powered by a Euro VI Turbo Diesel engine, capable of climbing slopes of up to 25%. The IVO22 is the company's latest locomotive, a fully electric zero-emission model featuring 2x4 or 4x4 traction for steep routes, self-levelling independent suspensions, and an onboard energy recovery system. Dotto Trains certifies its products in compliance with international standards and provides technical assistance and spare parts availability globally.
